Swimming has been my passion since childhood. What started as a love for the water has evolved into a disciplined pursuit of excellence. Every lap, every race, every improvement represents my commitment to pushing my limits and achieving my goals.
Training with Harry Wright International at the SCAA in Hong Kong has shaped my approach to competitive swimming. My weekly regimen includes six pool sessions totaling 11-12 hours, complemented by targeted gym work. This rigorous training develops not just athletic ability, but mental resilience and strategic thinking.
Swimming is fundamentally about data and optimization. Every stroke is measured, every time is analyzed, every race is a dataset for improvement. This data-driven mindset naturally connects to my passion for artificial intelligence—both domains reward precision, continuous learning, and the relentless pursuit of marginal gains.
My passion for artificial intelligence emerged from my athletic journey. I began asking: How can machine learning optimize training? How can AI analyze biomechanics? How can technology elevate human performance? These questions led me down the path of computer science and AI.
At age 12-13, I'm building a strong foundation in AI and computer science through self-directed learning. I've completed courses on Khan Academy and Coursera covering fundamental programming, data science, and machine learning concepts. My IB Personal Project will focus on "AI Applied to Swimming Performance Analysis"—bringing together my two passions into a meaningful research initiative.
I am committed to pursuing advanced studies in artificial intelligence at a leading university. My goal is to combine elite athletic training with rigorous academic preparation, ultimately contributing to the intersection of sports science and AI innovation.
Born in Hong Kong and raised in Macau, I carry a rich multicultural heritage that spans continents and cultures. My Portuguese father was born in Mozambique; my mother's family is rooted in Macau. My ancestry traces through England, Ireland, India, and Spain—a tapestry of diverse traditions and perspectives that shape my worldview.
